Sometimes the best connections aren’t made at the negotiating table, but over dinner—between courses, in conversation with people you previously only knew by name. That was exactly the kind of evening the 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis department’s sponsors’ evening turned out to be, to which we, as one of the main sponsors, were invited on Monday to the restaurant at the Best Western Victor’s Residenz-Hotel am Rodenhof.
Networking and exploring new ideas
The idea came from manager Nicolas Barrois—and from the very start it was designed to be different from the usual format. No program of thank-you speeches and sponsor logos on a screen, but an evening where around 70 guests from business and sport could genuinely get to know one another. Partners and supporters of the club from Saarland and far beyond, from regional SMEs to internationally active brands, came together for the first time in this friendly setting.

Also at the table: Sparkasse, Bruno Banani, and table tennis outfitter Tibhar—represented by Managing Director Roland Berg and company founder Erwin Berg, who has shaped the brand since its beginnings and is a true institution in international table tennis. Having a conversation with someone who has passionately followed the development of this sport for decades is exactly the kind of moment an evening like this makes possible.
The FCS Table Tennis Bundesliga squad was also there. Experiencing the players not only at the table but in relaxed conversation was one of the highlights of the evening for us.

inne® right in the middle of it
We had prepared 50 goodie bags for the guests—received with great delight and taken home, and gone noticeably faster than we had expected. Not a bad sign.
For us, as a brand from Saarbrücken, this commitment is no coincidence. We support families with thoughtfully developed products for children’s health, and elite sport starts in the youth ranks—when children pick up a paddle for the first time, and when families support them along the way. That’s why our connection to FCS Table Tennis is more than just a logo on a courtside barrier.
That’s exactly what evenings like this are about for us: meeting people, listening, and finding shared points of connection. Much of it doesn’t pay off immediately, but only over time—and that’s perfectly fine.
What we’ll remember most from this evening is the warm, family-like atmosphere that 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis radiates—as a sponsor, you don’t just feel invited here, you feel welcomed into the family in a very real way.
Our thanks go to Nicolas Barrois and the 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis team for the organization and the warm welcome. We’ll be happy to come back.
