Together for our future – A heart for the forest in Merzig

It was a day full of energy, joy and a genuine connection with nature: A special planting campaign took place in Merzig that showed how much power there is in community and commitment. Together with Aktion Baum, inne® and the Waldkicker non-profit organization, we were able to experience how valuable it is to make a difference together – literally, with both hands in the ground.
From the very first cut of the spade, it was clear that this day was more than just a tree planting campaign. It is a sign of people coming together to create something for the future. Every seedling that found its place in the forest floor stands for hope, responsibility and the willingness to actively protect our planet.
The forester Klaus Borger led the group through the day with a lot of passion. He explained how important healthy forests are for our climate, our biodiversity and future generations – and at the same time conveyed a sense of how fragile yet powerful nature is. Many participants later reported how valuable these insights were and how much they had changed their view of the forest.
A very special guest made children’s eyes light up: “Dribbelix“, the lively mascot of the Waldkicker – non-profit organization. With his positive energy, playful motivation and warm-hearted nature, he brought even more joy to the event and made the day a special experience, especially for the youngest children.
But it wasn’t just local supporters who were involved: An employee of the pharmacy at the train station in Friedberg took on a long journey to lend a hand. This commitment impressively underlines how big the community behind such projects is – and how many people are willing to invest time and energy to protect nature.
At the end of the day, we stood together among freshly planted trees, tired arms but full hearts. We had not only contributed to reforestation, but also sent a strong signal for sustainability, climate protection and community responsibility.
